Welcome to Human Nature Adventure Therapy
Human Nature Adventure Therapy (HNAT) is a not-for-profit organisation, which has been established to operate and ensure the on-going sustainability of the Recre8 Bush Adventure Therapy Program. The Recre8 Program supports vulnerable or ‘at-risk’ young people through an intensive expedition-based therapeutic intervention in the outdoors. For more details see here
Who is the Recre8 Program for?
Vulnerable youth aged between 14 and 19, primarily from the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast Regions. Participants of the Recre8 program are generally young people struggling with mental health issues, childhood trauma, drug and alcohol problems, behavioural difficulties & social exclusion. They are carefully selected as having both a significant need, as well as being most likely to benefit from what the program offers. We endeavour to choose participants who are willing and prepared to make positive changes in their lives, despite facing considerable barriers. We also work closely with supporting services and agencies (e.g. schools, foster care agencies, juvenile justice, youth services, drug and alcohol services, etc.), as well as families.
Our next Recre8 program will take place in October 2016, applications open now – contact Andy Hamilton on 0438233510 for information about the application process.
